AXXIS is the largest and most respected provider of commercially available petroleum price analysis software in the U.S. Some of the largest and most successful fuel marketers in the U.S. rely on AXXIS’ price analysis software for efficiently processing daily supplier price notifications.

Project Description:
AXXIS Petroleum electronically captures almost 100,000 prices every day and subjects them to a strict quality assurance procedure, resulting in approximately 25,000 unique prices including gasoline, distillates, aviation fuels, ethanol and propane. They carry pricing for over 160 suppliers at 1,240 terminals in 370 locations in North America. This information was then delivered to wholesale petroleum product buyers via satellite, FTP, or fax.

AXXIS’ customers, petroleum suppliers and wholesale buyers, were seeking a more reliable and affordable daily price notification system. AXXIS decided to leverage their existing system by combining it with Internet technology to create a value-added, two-way communications application that makes sense for the entire industry.

Goals of the project included:

Reduce price of the service by reducing labor for AXXIS staff

Increase speed processing and subsequent delivery of prices

Confirm customer access

Include data encryption

Reveal data according to customer profile

Provide access to historical prices Show current product availability

Project Solution:
Staff currently at ArchWing provided the business analysis, project management, information architecture, and HTML expertise to create the Web interface to AXXIS’ existing application.

The result was a clean, intuitive interface designed for optimal loading performance. The project team was able to design and implement the interface in seven weeks.

	In addition, the resulting system caught the attention of FuelSpot.com, (the leading independent trade, exchange, and e-commerce portal for the petroleum industry) who recently acquired AXXIS Petroleum to expand their online offerings
